Public Affairs Director
Matt came to the Argentum team from the Medicaid Division of the State Department of Health and Human Services. In that capacity, he oversaw website construction, social media and worked on various statewide campaigns ranging from legislative hearings on Medicaid-For-All proposals to opioid abuse interdiction. Prior to his service at DHHS, Matt worked in communications at the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange where he handled Community and Tribal outreach.
In 2011, following Governor Sandoval’s creation of the Nevada 150 Commission to celebrate the states 150th birthday, Matt was brought on to manage the commemoration as the Project Coordinator for the celebration, contributing to the planning and execution of over 500 events throughout the year in every corner of our state. This position allowed Matt to delve in merchandise development including the popular medallions and belt buckles to help fund the celebration, as well as working on the implementation of multiple “legacy projects” such as statues, memorials, and more.
In addition to marketing and communications activities, Matt has been involved in local, state and federal public policy issues from an early age, having interned while in high school for Congressman Dean Heller and then in college with Senator John Ensign. That passion took him across the nation, where he worked as a policy aid in Governor Brian Sandoval’s Washington, D.C. office. He developed a variety of relationships on Capitol Hill and worked with the National Governors’ Association and the Western Governors’ Association. Upon his return to Nevada, Matt interned for the Nevada Commission on Tourism, handling legislative affairs and various public relations issues.
Since joining Argentum Partners, Matt has represented clients spanning healthcare, gaming, entertainment, and other industries. With a firm grasp of the social and political landscape, Matt has been able to help clients navigate through the system and achieve favorable results.
