As a partner with Argentum Law, Benjamin W. Kennedy is counsel to local governments, business entities, and individuals in a wide variety of legal matters. He specializes in corporate, real estate, and financing transactions, as well as compliance with open meeting law, the Public Records Act, and municipal procedures.  Ben is experienced in and regularly advises clients on:

  • The acquisition, sale, leasing and development of retail, industrial, office, medical, multifamily residential and mixed-use property, including multi-tenant shopping centers and malls with national anchor tenants, gas station/truck stops, and large industrial warehouse complexes;
  • Significant commercial lending transactions involving diverse and multi-state collateral pools, on both the lender and borrower sides;
  • Real property foreclosures and tenant evictions;
  • All phases of business entity formation, governance, and dissolution, for all types of entities;
  • Mergers, acquisitions, and joint venture relationships involving individuals and entities, including asset and stock/membership interest acquisitions and sales, with particular experience with medical/dental practices and Nevada auto dealerships;
  • Formation, governance, and compliance management for Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 116 common interest ownership communities;
  • State of Nevada and local jurisdiction licensing; and
  • Local government compliance with open meetings, public records, purchasing and local government budget acts.

Ben is a native Nevadan with decades of legal experience in Nevada. Outside of his legal practice, he has a long history of service to his community.  He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Eddy House. Previously, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Step2 and served on the University of Nevada alumni council.  He enjoys spending his free time with his family and enjoying all of the outdoor opportunities Northern Nevada has to offer.
